Duck weed is a pest in Lake Simcoe, Ontario, some summers. To an artist's eye however it can be very attractive.
Starting out life as a lap quilt, this ended up as a favourite and seemed right for hanging.
A lap quilt inspired by the colours of the Islands. The design is constructed by creating blocks using warm colours in the centre and cooler colours around it. The sashing and binding are made from specially hand dyed fabrics depicting the very vivid turquoise hues of the North Atlantic Ocean.
