There are only three new pieces in this gallery. It sounds as though output has been low, however Effie's main energies have gone into producing her book Patterns in Landscape, over the last couple of years and making sure people know what is included in it and that it is available.
The three pieces offered here are totally different.

Hebridean Waters is a play with colour and form. The dazzling blues and aqua shades in the seas around the Western Isles of Scotland have to be seen to be believed. This is an attempt to emphasize how strong and clear they can be. The piece is made with several patterns, turned and shown differently. It is machine pieced and hand quilted.

Peat(s) is a more iconic image bringing together the ideas of the piles of peat being cut on the moor and the piles which are seen outside the houses of the cutters. They are piled in many ways but the crucial element is letting air through the piles so that the peats dry out ready for use.

Reflections of the Clisham is a piece of landscape work inspired by a fabulously clear day on the Isle of Harris last year (Sept 2015) where the air was unusally still and the colours crystal clear. The piece is made in a traditional template led fashion, is machine pieced and hand quilted.
